Youth Climate Story: Fossil Fuel Development in Pennsylvania

Hear from Natalie, a young person using their voice to fight against fossil fuel development in Pennsylvania and along the Ohio River Valley. Sitting on the Ohio River half an hour outside of Pittsburgh, a Shell ethane cracker plant is pumping over 16,000 tons of CO2 into the air, land, and water in rural Beaver County. The plant has already blown through several air pollution limits, making it difficult for Natalie and others to breathe. Every day, some of Pennsylvania’s natural beauty slips away, lost to fossil fuel pollution and corporate greed.

“We all deserve to live in a community where every person can drink clean water and breathe clean air.”
