Max was born in San Pablo City in the Philippines. At the age of 8, she moved to Highland Park in Northeast Los Angeles. She is an ACE alumna and a Class of 2017 and 2018 ACE Action Fellow. In 2016, she received the Los Angeles Women in Green Youth Trailblazer Award. In her acceptance speech, Max tells her personal story of arriving for the first time in LA and being surrounded by more cement and concrete than she’d ever seen and how this motivated her to make her neighborhood greener.
