Climate Education Presenter - Phoenix, Arizona

Romila Hussaini is a Climate Education Presenter with Our Climate Our Future. She completed her B.A. at Mount Holyoke College, where she studied Political Science and Middle Eastern Studies, and was awarded the Critical Language Scholarship (CLS) to study Persian. Shortly after completing her degree in 2019, Romila attended the U.S. Future Leaders Topical Seminar on Energy & Resources, hosted by Benjamin A. Gilman International Scholarship Program and CLS. This seminar inspired her research interests on the relationship between climate change and human rights.

She completed her Master's degree in Social Justice and Human Rights from Arizona State University in 2022. As a graduate student, Romila worked as a Case Aid with the International Rescue Committee and also continued to advance her language skills in Persian at the Critical Languages Institute with ASU’s Melikian Center. She aims to continue using her language skills to promote climate science, education, and diplomacy.

Every morning, you can find Romila at her desk with a fresh cup of espresso. She enjoys mixing various ingredients and coming up with new recipes. She also enjoys hiking, swimming, and reading in her free time.
