3 COP28 Highlights from ACE Director of Education – COP28 was a whirlwind! This was my first time attending the annual COP of the UNFCCC and following are a few highlights from my time in Dubai.
Lesson Plan: Energy Justice – This lesson supports teachers and students to explore the idea of energy justice through community-level data analysis. This lesson was recently recognized by the CLEAN Network as providing high-quality instruction on climate literacy and energy awareness.

CLIMATE NEWS AND EVENTS
Climate Emergency: Feedback Loops – a series of short films ranging in length from 8-14 minutes, identifies the effects of various human derived climate feedback loops, including forests, permafrost, the atmosphere, and the albedo effect. The films are narrated by Richard Gere, and endorsed by both the Dalai Lama and Greta Thunberg.
PBS Terra Weathered Playlist – Science Communicator, Maiya May, recently joined Our Climate Our Future’s team in Atlanta to bring climate education to high schools. Check out her recent work with PBS on understanding natural disasters and exploring how a changing climate is increasing their frequency.
Black Gold, Indigenous Water – Wisconsin Indigenous rights and environmental advocates unite to protect the Bad River Band of Lake Superior Chippewa from oil spills. ACE Action Teams are among those advocating to protect this vital resource.
